For Advertisers:

Different – This is a local website for 16-21 year olds based on the concept of noticeboards inside careers rooms. It is not intended for graduates and not a personal careers advice & guidance website – although we do signpost to the considerable support accessible elsewhere.

Signposting – We provide four noticeboards in each careers room where organisations can signpost to relevant and local talks and events, work experience, and other early careers opportunities for interested young people to find and apply direct.

Quick & Easy – Adverts suitable for 16-21 year olds can be live in just a few minutes – send us your logo and tell us about your local opportunity here ([email protected]).

No barriers – It’s free to search and free to advertise on the noticeboards, we don’t handle applications, there’s no middleman and no catch.

No competition – We signpost direct to anyone offering local opportunities suitable for young people, including volunteering organisations and colleges. We do not handle applications and we do not charge. All we ask is that there is clear acknowledgement of so that we have the option to seek future sponsorship.

Equal – All the adverts are in the same format. And to encourage SMEs, the opportunities with smaller organisations are therefore listed equally alongside the larger ones.

Quality – We seek out quality local opportunities from quality organisations and brands. We enhance that quality by only allowing adverts in the relevant careers’ rooms. Young people then become quality applicants because they have a genuine interest in that career sector.

Who are we?

Now owned by the University of the West of England, was originally the initiative of mother of two, Emma Tate, who had become frustrated by the bewildering choice of national careers-related websites, as well as the complexity and often confusing layout of some of those available. Most of all, it was the one thing that would have made life ‘so much easier’ when trying to help young people gather recent and relevant evidence for their CVs and Personal Statements whilst exploring what they wanted to do.

Aligned to the Gatsby Benchmarks for schools, we are proud to now deliver this free, one-stop-shop to help young people, their parents/carers and schools to quickly and easily access relevant and local opportunities to help fill CVs and Personal Statements for applications and interviews, whilst at the same time signposting (wherever possible) to a choice of local academic courses and apprenticeship vacancies relevant to each career sector.

We also have simple overviews of the different local pathways available after GCSEs and at aged 18, Tips on CVs, Interviews and Applications as well as a Help section signposting to Careers Tests and more detailed advice and guidance elsewhere. These are all conveniently located on the blue banner at the bottom of every screen.

We care deeply about showcasing the choice of opportunities and career pathways that can help young people of all circumstances and abilities to write their CVs, fill their CVs and simply – Get Their Future Started!
